iPhone Unlock iPhone 3GS BB 05.16.02 iOS 4.3.5 - no SHSH blobs

I followed all the steps and everything worked great until the last step. When I insert my Sim card and turn Airplane mode on and off it briefly flashes searching and then goes to one bar of service. But no voice or text work. Any ideas? Thanks!
 
OP, Thank you so much for the info given!!! It revived my ipod 3gs from the dead. At least it can be turn on, but I have no IMEI, ICCID and no modem firmware. Trying to load the deb file as it shows when no wifi, but still nothing is happening. The phone reboots itself every 5 minutes or so.

Hi Alienvariety,

First of all a big thank you for taking time to make this very detailed manual. I was at the point of giving up when I came upon your post. I did each step as listed and yes, on a few steps I had to try a few different things, but eventually I got there and now have an unlocked 3gs phone that I'd bought for my wife. So I really cant thank you enough.

This forum doesnt make registration very easy and its taken me two days to finally be able to make this post (all the waiting for the activation email then forgetting my password, then resetting it etc.) but where normally I wouldve long given up I persisted simply because I felt compelled to thank you for this post.

Once again, great job! To all those for whom this didnt work I'd say, pay attention to the details of the points and try and experiment at any step that doesnt work. Also dont leave it too long as you never know when Apple will stop signing the older firmware!

thanks man, first time doing this, didn't have a problem. My one question is, since your on iOS 4.1 or 4.2 and now have updated to 6.15.00 .. im wondering are you able to update the iOS ? And if so, what's the highest iOS you can run on. I dont want to go on itunes, update, and **** **** up hah cheers !
 
Hi what steps do I need to follow in order to restore my phone to 4.1 and retail break it?

Its jailbroken on 4.1 with 06.15 BB and unlocked right now but my apps wont open and crash all the time.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to unlock and jailbreak by downgrading to 4.1 and changing the bb to 6.15.00.

I heard somewhere that beside the GPS and warranty and so on, I could also loose my WiFi, bluetooth and also the info in the IMEI.
Can someone elaborate on this? Has anyone heard anything about it?

I am new at the game... but really need to jailbreak and use MY IPHONE to its fully capacity.

i did the steps, but?

I went ahead and did it. Just like the 30 steps. Now I have a 4.1 IOS, with Cydia and repo666 installed but the baseband still shows as 5.16.02 and now It shows there is not service. Maybe I did one of the steps wrong. I did step 18 (deselect install Cydia and select IPad band) . . . What happened? I did experience some issues and it was stuck on the recovery screen for hours. i used tinyumbrella to get out of it, but it did not work until i installed 4.1 (step 7) and it came up. then did step 11 and 12, and cydia was istalled already. I am so confuse. should I do the steps starting from step 11 again? Do I need to uninstall cydia before I try to change baseband to 6.15 again?


Please help

PS how como cydia is installed with original bb (5.16.02)?
why am I not getting signal (just searching) when I insert SIM-card?

Why don't you just get it unlocked through AT&T?

I called them they gave me all kind of excuses. ATT can't unlock Iphones. I am sure they can but they probably have some kind of deal to bend us over and screw us. I am a strong believer that If you buy your own phone you should be able to enjoy it in its entire capacity, no limitations. I also have a samsung Eternity and they gave me the code to unlock it, figure that out.

I finally got it. It works perfectly and still have GPS.

I also have another iphone. it is a 4.1 IOS with a bb 5.14.02. 🙄
I wonder if I an skip a few steps and just install Cydia, new Baseband, and repo. or should i reinstall the 4.1 that I downloaded? is it going to work with bb 5.14.02 or should I get another way to unlock and jailbreak?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but this works! I was very surprised. Had a little bit of trouble (forgot to click Install for repo666 etc) but it worked in the end.
