ML also crashing at wake on my mac
Hi,
Since upgrading to 10.8.2, my PowerBook crashes almost all the time at wake from sleep. It is systematic if my wifi settings change in the mean time and seem to be correlated to a 'maintenance wake', however my Powerbook is not a Retina-display one and I understood it was not powernapping. Here is the typical system.log excerpt: Dec 10 15:55:52 myMac kernel[0]: Wake reason: EC.SleepTimer (SleepTimer)If I understand well, the Mac wakes from sleep to proceed with maintenance after a certain sleeping time, then do a variety of tasks and finally reaches a corrupted state. When I reopen the lid, the login screen shows up and the Mac instantly crashes. Other users have reported such crashes but does not it look like PowerNap is running when it should not be on my mid-2012 macBook Pro? LB |

Solved?
After many attempts to solve the issue, the culprit seems to be the firmware of the 3rd party SSD I had put in my Macbook Pro, a Crucial M4.
I had still the 009 version of the firmware which I knew had a bad bug and needed to update. Recent versions of the firmware also had some significant issues. The final decision to update came from reading MacBidouille's forum, particularly on the fact that the previous 010G firmware attempted to bring "Improved resume-time from low power modes, and improved reliability of warm reboot", however with a very nasty bug... that is supposed to be solved with the more reliable 040H version. Upgrading to the last version of the Crucial M4 firmware (040H) seems to have solved all my "crash at wake" issues... and may be of interest to the many that have reported such issues. LB |
