Question Get a java game to show in launchpad

I have downloaded a java game it's a .jar file I want it to show with my other games in launchpad but because it is not a .app file and even though it lives in my applications folder it will not show in launchpad.

Is there a way of getting it into my launchpad? kind of annoying having to navigate to the game the long way round i.e. finder/application/game.jar

or failing that is there a way of getting it onto the Dock?
