Hello,

I just purchased a refurbished 2011 Macbook Air 4GB / 128GB off of Apple for $869. I feel like I got a pretty good deal! My workload is not very heavy and I have other options for storage. However, my mind would be at ease if the computer has 8GB. Like I said, my workload is not heavy but I do a lot of multitasking. Is the deal I got too good to pass up? Is there a cheap alternative online if I'm looking for a 2011 8GB / 128GB? Lastly, I don't think the difference from 2011 to 2012 would be noticeable for someone like me. Is that true? Thanks for all of your help!

There is no 2011 8 GB/ 128 GB. The 8 GB RAM option introduced itself in the current 2012 models.

Nonetheless, I think you got a decent deal.

I think I got the same deal as you except I paid $799 since I didn't pay sales tax on it. I plan on using it for about a year and selling it when the Haswell comes out.

That makes sense! Opinions on 2011 vs. 2012 model? Thanks for your help!

Where did you purchase?

Besides the better processor and different MagSafe power adapter, you get USB 3.0. Other than that, no difference.

Did you get the 11" or 13"? The 11" are priced at $799 before tax and the 13" was $869 before tax

I went with the 11". Maybe I should pickup the 13" in case I find the 11" too small. But really just need something to hold me over to Haswell as I sold my MBP.

The other difference is that the '12 MBA has faster RAM and a HD camera along with the other upgrades mentioned previously.
