My goal is to create a high-def tutorial movie into a DVD that would play on a physical DVD player or on a Windows and Mac computer. The movie has about 9 chapters. The start menu will only have the following options: PLAY DVD and CHAPTERS. It's pretty basic.
In a nutshell, I need someone to summarize how FCPX, Compressor, and iDVD work together. I've been using FCPX for about a month now, so I'm able to put together a project using clips and image stills.
Here's what I think needs to happen, with some questions:
1) Create the movie in FCPX, and specify required chapters
2) Export movie from FCPX (Using which setting/format for 1920x1080 playback?)
3) Create a new project in iDVD
4) Import the exported movie into iDVD and burn
Does this sound about right?
Instead of Step 2, I also tried sending my working FCP project to Compressor. From there, I applied the "MPEG-2 for DVD" setting, which created a .m2v file. However, when I tried importing the .m2v to iDVD, it wouldn't let me.
Thanks in advance!
