Watch Itunes content without computer on

I thought I read somewhere that you can now watch your Itunes videos/listen to music from Apple Tv without having your computer on and Itunes open? Is this true? Or was I imagining things?

I have apple tv 2...just wondered if this was possible and how I can go about doing this? Thanks

if you use itunes match then your music will be available on apple tv from icloud. you do not need computer on.

for video it is not so easy.

iTunes videos you can simply stream directly from iCloud to your ATV (the ones you've bought or rented from iTunes, that is). No computer required.

It's true, but only for content purchased from iTunes or already uploaded with iTunes Match (music only).
