I am a very happy customer of GOG, having purchased a lot of games from them and even happier now that they are directly supporting the Mac. I should remember in the future to point out No DRM as a very nice feature too. I do like that.

FPS might be down in this due to the fact they didn't recode it to OpenGL, but are using a translation layer for DirectX -> OpenGL...

In my experience, there's always a small performance hit when running games in OS X, translation layer or not.

thats not OS X... that just comes down to the programming and experience, not something inherently to do with OSX.

I will give this + to their translation layer though, it seems to be using OpenGL 3.2 and not stuck to the older 2.1 like most are doing.

I personally thought that VP was dying, their FB page, twitter account and homepage has been silent for a while but today this popped up on their twitter account:

You could see the games´profile on Deliver2mac.com for a short period before it disappeared again, but I managed to grab the system requirements:

Minimum specs:
OS X version 10.7.5 or later.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce GT 650M 512MB (on 1440x900, medium), Radeon HD 5770 1GB (on 1440x900, low)
Hard Drive: 25 GB free space on HDD

Recommended specs:
OS X version 10.7.5 or later.
Processor: Quad Core Intel
Memory: 8GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce GT 650M 1 GB (on 1440x900, medium), Radeon HD 6970M 1 GB (on 1920x1080, medium)
Hard Drive: 25 GB free space on HDD

The price will be $29.99, or at least that was what it was on deliver2mac.com before the link died.

Just got this game for like $11 on GoG... It runs pretty poorly on Mac Pro w/ GTX 680 @ 2560x1440p on 10.8.2, though is quite playable on Medium settings...Get the same performance in Windows on Ultra (minus Ubersampling) at roughly 50fps.... (I haven't checked playing @ 1080p but I imagine it plays far better). FWIW though there is some warning about NVIDIA continually perfecting drivers and it may not run up to par on 600 series for OS X in the system recommendations. I wonder how the 7970 fairs w/ the game in 10.8.3 beta since the 7000 series drivers have support.

Already customer there, because they got Ultima IX: Ascension.

GOG itself is a DRM, you can't sell your purchased games :D

How is Ultima XI by the way? I remember when it came out it was a wreck, wasn't it? Did they do away with the jumping from VIII?

Any how, I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say Witcher II won't run on a 4000HD right?

I remember how it used to perform on my PC with a 6970 2GB, I can't imagine what it would be like on a 4000....

I've got the same MBP you've got in your signature, and Witcher (I) runs like crap to the point I haven't played it. Right in the opening part, when that big praying mantis thing is brought into the compound, framerate chokes down to single digits. Unacceptable for an old game on a brand new computer with a GPU touted to be 'revolutionary'. Meh. I've started gaming on my XBox and haven't really done anything on my Mac for months. Skyrim won't let me go . . .

Would love to hear from a rMBP owner on this as well

Runs well since the OSX ML 2.0 update on my rMBP. best settings I find are 1440x900 Medium textures and shadows , no AA or SSAO, no DOF

Feels like 30-40 fps but no way I know of to actually see the fps on OSX.

Anyone tried it yet on the new high-end 21.5"? How does it do?

I know it meets the minimum reqs, but wondering what that actually means in practice....

You must be the one who can to run this game on rMBP. This game sucks in Retina (macos) 20-30 fps 848x480 Low settings.

In windows, 1280x800 high settings 45-60 fps. 1980x1080 low settings 40-60 fps.
