Issues with upgrading to Snow Leopard
I am attempting to update household MacBook laptops from Leopard to Snow Leopard. I was successful with one computer but am having issues with the second. I have burned a downloaded copy of Snow Leopard onto a DVD.
When I insert the disc and try to install, the installer reports that "The application 'install Mac OS X' cannot be used from this volume." I have seen other threads suggest trying to repartition the hard drive(make smaller), but I cannot seem to get the repartition to run all the way through successfully. This is the same disc that was used for the other MacBook. The MacBook with the issue is a silver 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 duo Silver Please help! Need the upgrade to use iTunes 7 and an iPhone 5 |

Piracy is not allowed on MacRumors in any form. Just buy Snow Leopard, it's really cheap.

Mine as well. If a repartition isn't working, try repairing the disk. As for the CD, try burning the dmg to a USB or another DVD. If you don't want to, make sure it's clean/not scratched.
