Tracking emails from specific senders on the desktop?

Hi guys,

So yeah, I'm looking for a way to keep track of emails in my inbox from specific senders, in this case my employer. I don't necessarily want it to display the emails or even open up Mail, I just want some sort of desktop-level notification of messages received. My initial thoughts were a Geektool script but I can't find anything that will do this, so I'm opening the floor to you guys. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Looks promising, thanks. However I can't seem to find an option to add VIPs, which will presumably be what allows me to filter which emails I see. Any ideas?

Create another mailbox that only contains emails that you get from your employer, and make Herald only notify you when you get an email to that mailbox.
