Is the 16gb I5 enough memory for normal use? I am not into games but mainly ESPN apps and a few others. I am going to use Spotify or MOG for music. I just dont want to get a 16gb and a month or two later run out of memory?? Thanks for yalls input.

If you stream music, you'd definitely be better off with a 16GB iP5. If you're not gaming or storing a lot of pictures/videos on your iPhone, 16GB should be good enough.

16 GB sounds like enough for you. Unless you take a lot of pictures/videos in addition to what you said you should be fine. A few apps should have no problem fitting in 16 GB.

I've got an iPhone with a capacity of 13.5GB free ( 16 GB ) model and I've got quite a bit music, a few games and no videos.
If you do not want to have like 100+ apps or a big bunch of videos & your whole music library I do prefer getting the 16GB model as it suits your needs perfectly without paying too much for unused storage on your device. Dave,

If you don't plan on storing music or lots of photos and videos on your phone then 16gb sounds right for you.

I got the 16gb. I have only used 3.9gb in two months of usage. The most usage I have is from music and that is 587mb. Most of the apps you use aren't that big, unless they are gaming apps. I also take a lot of pictures, but I also just download themn to my PC and then back them up on an external hard drive. 16gb is plenty for me. |

A 16gb iPhone is plenty of space for most people, including myself. I decided to get the 32gb version though just to play it safe. I'm planning on keeping the iPhone 5 for at least two years(which I never do) and feel better having the extra space.
One thing I saw that helped me make the decision. One hour of HD video shot on the iPhone 5 takes up 10gb's of storage. |

Like others have said, if you don't have a lot of video or apps then 16GB should be fine.

You can't add memory to your iPhone. You'd have to return/sell your iPhone and upgrade to a higher capacity (32GB).

![]() Your really should be ok though, i had the 16gb on my 4 and except for not being able to load all of the videos i wanted i was fine. i am going with the 32gb on my 5, but only so i can load videos and all of my music (allthough i might go with itunes match).

Well my girlfriends friend adds memory to hers she says? She does it thru her provider??
So if I had about 2000 songs max plus about 500 pics and 20 short vides(2:00) max plus let's say 15 apps. Would the 16gb have enough space? If so about how much would I have free? |

You only get like 13GB once the OS and "other" have eaten their share. I have: Songs: 2002 Videos: 2 (short) Photos: 603* Applications: 46 Capacity: 57.3GB Available: 38.3GB (so I've used roughly 19GB between me and the OS/other) *Mind you, just last week I cleared off ALL pics/vids and started over. The 600 some pics that are on there are no dobut from photostream etc. Camera roll is at 23 and photo library is at 52 total -- so not very many pics. I think you'd really be pushing it with a 16GB like I was with my 4s. So frustrating taking a video just for it to quit and say you've run out of space. |

I bought the 32, just because id rather pay the extra 100 now, and not unse it, than run out of memory and be screwed. right now im at 287 songs and its at 2.0 gigs used for music. so yes 2000 will take up a bunch of space.....

"Normal" doesn't mean anything. Everyone thinks that their usage is "normal". As with any question of usage you need to look at your current usage and allow for room for growth. Keep in mind that storage isn't expandable as pointed out above.
