Clueless newbie - iCloud backup

I have had my iPhone 4s for a few months now, and decided to sit down today and finally backup my phone to iCloud, and to my laptop.

I went into iTunes and backed my phone up to both devices, but I am scared that my pictures have not correctly saved to either. I searched a good few websites, looking to find the location of the saved data, to ensure that my pictures have been saved, however I have had no luck.

Can anybody help with regards to a way that I can check that my data has been backed up?

Thanks!

PhotoStream isn't really a backup for photos, it's just a neat way of sharing some of your most recent photos.

If you want to transfer photos wirelessly from your iOS device then look an app called PhotoSync.

www.icloud.com will let you see what's backed up.

You should be able to see if it has backed up to iTunes by going to Preferences and "Devices". On a sidenote you should only back up to one of the two either iCloud or iTunes.

Thanks for your help. If I just stick to backing it up to iTunes, how do I check that my pictures have been saved to iTunes?

They're copied to your Pictures folder.

You have to plug it in via USB and it will ask to transfer. It's not part of the backup.

Like I mentioned PhotoSync is much better.
