No, it doesn't have to be the iKlear solution. It was the only thing I had available. I was too lazy to get the glass cleaner (which was the recommended solution) from my car.

And yes, just as long as all liquid is pushed out and not too much is used, wet application will produce great results with little to no chance of air bubbles or other deformities.

Currently using the Belkin Grip Max. http://www.belkin.com/us/F8W161-Belkin/p/P-F8W161 It's similar to the Speck Candyshell with a mixed design of TPU on the inside with a shock absorbing pattern and hardy glossy polycarbonate on the exterior. I prefer it over the Canyshell's I've had for my 4S (have yet to try the 5 version) because this TPU material has yet to peel like the rubber did on the Speck and and polycarbonate seems to be a bit more resilient to scratching, even though it's bound to happen with this material. This case protected my phone extremely well when it flew out of my car and skidded across the concrete.

I was really surprised with the durability and may be ordering a few more colors but for now I'm loving the stealthy all black look. Also I'm a big fan of how tight and snug the fit is so hopefully no dirt or grime will be getting and and nicking that beautiful chamfered edge. P.S. using it in combination with the Steinheil Ultra Crystal screen protector. I love it! Here's some photos.

I just got the Hammer case by SYSTM (Made by Incase). Its got Poron XRD foam in the corners. Great fit and buttons are still tactile.

Are the edges of that tpu case flat or are they rounded? If they are flat, could you please post a link to the page on eBay where you bought it? Thanks. Also, are the buttons easy to push?

I just have to say that I hate every single case for this phone. It's so sad that we have to cover its beauty with all this garbage. I use a case case but I despise it also. Big thumbs down to all of them. I think I'm going naked just cause I'm angered.
