Any advices on an efficient way to screen capturing and pasting into iMessage?

Right now I use Monosnap. Take screen capture, save on desktop, then drag and drop into iMessage. Would like to avoid saving the image.

any ideas?

Use the shortcut keys;

CMD+Shift+3 = Full screen capture and puts the image file on your desktop.

CMD+Shift+4+Spacebar then click the window you want to capture = Capture that entire window and puts the image file on your desktop.

Then drag either of those in to iMessage.

In addition to DavoteK's reply, pressing the ctrl key saves the image to the clipboard instead of an image on your desktop.

Cmd-ctrl-shift-3 — Take screenshot and save to clipboard
Cmd-ctrl-shift-4 — Let you drag to select screenshot viewport (or press space to select current window) and save to clipboard.

Just Cmd-V in iMessage to paste.
