I'm not sure what you're looking to carry apart from the computer, but I have always liked Tumi messenger bags.

You better not spend more for the bag than you did for your laptop.
I have a nice Case Logic bag for my rMBP.

@OP: I suggest getting a hand-made leather bag, built integrally of hummingbird penis skin. It's the most luxurious bag on the market. It takes hundreds of thousands of hummingbirds to create ( YES, an extremely rare specie is used that DOES have a penis ) and reviewers state the feeling you get when rubbing it to your face is just out of this World.

It's nothing about the best to protect the device, it's all about the name brand these days huh?
I can see the next thread title: "Which case has the best hipster cred at Starbucks when I order my double frou frou latte??" ![]()

Depends on the price range.
The quality of the material and designer matter. If you don't care that much, go look at Incase or Patagonia messenger bags. The latter is fairly decent. Otherwise, you have some searching to do.

I'm not sure if they make laptop bags, but L.L. Bean does make some messenger bags (and backpacks) with laptop cases inside them.
---------- LOL. Thanks for pointing that out. I guess were too late, I'm sure the OP has one by now!

Booq
I know people are still looking, despite the age or relevance of this post but I have always liked Booq.

I mean sure, different people, different likes / needs... I for one can not see myself ever putting a notebook in a backpack, no matter what they label it ( "notebook backpack" )

It's expected to arrive today, if it does I'll put some pictures up here for all to see. I was also going to get a Mamba sleeve, but I got a sleeve for the holidays. Although it's not the best padded. |

Great backpack.
![]() Just don't drop it from a coat rack height in the sliding closets with the steel runners. Otherwise great for travel, I tour with my 17"MBP in it with 5 change of clothes, bath stuff etc and carry it on - easy breezy ! I also use it for groceries ! =^_^=

Just had my Booq Mamba Courier arrive this morning. It's an amazing bag and holds my 15" rMBP perfectly.
It's waterproof outside and inside. Here's some pictures. |
