My wife just got her iMac 27" basemodel with 1tb fusion. Lucky her. (wife happy, me happy )

Ordered on november 30. Payment via banktransfer (confirmed on december 3). Sent via TNT.

Germany, ordered on Nov 30 via wired transfer, delivery jan 3rd-9th JUST changed into "preparing for shipment" AWESOME !!!

After some telephone calls to UPS and one to Apple it's now official that UPS "lost" my iMac.

How do you lose a 27" iMac!?!

As frustrating as that must be you can be assured Apple will sort you out a replacement ASAP - I'd be surprised if you don't get it within a week from Monday. Also you can maybe get a freebie as a gesture of good will.

As for me...

My order just changed to preparing for shipment!

Of course who knows when it will be shipped but I ordered on December 4th.

In Italy when we write "lost" we generally mean stolen (kind of gives away the nice culture of this nation).

And of course UPS would never say it was lost within their network… it's terrible PR for a carrier. Well who knows maybe they can find it again even if I don't hold my breath for that

This is surely better than the last 3 days when it was just "Out for delivery".

Not long now hopefully, does anyone know when the applecare I ordered runs from.....is it the day they dispatch or the day I ordered it (4th Dec) ?

That's a bit of a p1$$er than as i'll have lost a month of cover, time for a mail to Apple

Interestingly the money is still in my bank too, it disappeared at order time and reappeared a day or so later and hasn't gone anywhere since.

Question: when you switched from "Preparing for Shipment" to "Shipped," did you receive an email instantly, or did you see it yourself through Apple first?

Wasn't home when they tried to deliver today, unfortunately, but now it's at the local post office waiting for me to pick it up - ordered it the 3rd of December

Well, you can also be a little bit more proactive yourself, pick up the phone and call UPS/TNT/DHL/whatever for information... Crazy suggestion I know.
