Mac Mail Issue

I am new to Mac and love it. However, I'm having a minor issue with Mac Mail on my imac. I have a POP3 account and it's set up to download manually. When I go into my mail, i click the envelope icon and the mail downloads. The left hand panel will say, "7 of 7 messages..." or something to that effect. 2 or 3 messages will download and the rest won't until I click the envelope icon again. This doesn't happen on my Windows machines or my iPad, so it must have something to do with Mac Mail.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

Who do you use for email? And why not IMAP?

Actually, I played around with some settings and it seems to have resolved itself. The mail is with GoDaddy - not sure why not imap - I've had the email account for over 10 years - always been a pop3 account.

I'm not sure which setting resolved the problem. Thanks for the reply though.
