Right so I like to make videos using iMovie, and I've downloaded the clips from youtube using Aimersoft.

However, I've found when I go to import some of these files to iMovie, they won't let me.

Then when I go to open the file it says: "The document XXXX could not me opened. The movie's file format isn't recognized.

However, it's file format is exactly the same as another file that can be opened and imported to iMovie just fine.

I don't understand why this is?

I don't want to have to download all the clips again, it took hours!

The only thought I did have is that I didn't always let the video's load when I dragged their URL to the Aimersoft downloader. Could it be if the video hasn't actually started it doesn't get all the information it's needs and so when it downloads something doesn't work?

Can you just run it through some conversion software like Handbrake just incase that works?
