Hi,

I just got a text from a random number and replied to it just asking who it was. It was a little weird so I just ignored this number. However, I get another random text from some guy in canada who thinks I'm a chick. So I find out from this guy that someone is basically using other people's phone numbers to convince them to buy **** for this person.

Now what worries is me that my number was just used in a potential scam. I read about the SMS spoofing and how it was a vulnerability in iOS 5. I still have iOS5 and never upgraded because I wanted to keep Google Maps at the time. Does this mean that if I upgrade to iOS6 my number will not be able to be spoofed at all? Thank you.
