Transfer contacts in iPhone to computer
Hello,
I do not use Yahoo!Address Book, or Outlook express, so I typed all my contacts into my iphone manually..I am afraid I will lose the contacts so I need to back them up on my computer somehow. How would I go about doing this? Some people told me to sync with outlook express, however I am concerned that outlook would overwrite all my contacts and leave me with nothing. Thank you for your help. Last edited by KristenStewart; Nov 20, 2011 at 05:35 AM. |

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)
Why not use iCloud? Allows you to backup your contacts and access them online.

Your contacts are automatically backed up once you sync your iPhone to iTunes or iCloud.

As already mentioned iTunes will back them up automatically when you sync your phone with it. If you have iOS 5 you can also use iCloud.

If you have gmail, you can also set your contact to synchronize with that account. The nice thing about this method is that
1) if you ever switch to Android, it will be very easy to load the contacts onto that phone, and 2) you can look at your contacts on any computer with an internet connection Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars then enter your gmail information. Pretty easy. If you don't have gmail, getting a gmail account is easy and free at www.gmail.com |

If you're using Windows 7, simply click the Start button, click Run and enter the word contacts.

That's about half of what you really need to do. Get them on your computer and then get them into an account that will sync (get them off your phone's local storage) so you don't have to constantly migrate your contacts or worry about them.
