Airdop between new iMac and 2010 MBP not working.

I search forums and cant find solution for this.

New iMac 27, 2010 MBP running mountain lion.
On day 1 Airdrop between the two worked fine. A few days later I tried again and neither devices see each other when I open up the Airdrop window.

Is there a preference somewhere to initialize this? Very odd that it worked for a day or so ...

Its not that the other device cannot receive the files, its that the other device does not even show up in the window as a possible AirDrop connection. Simple local network. All my apple devices work perfectly. iTunes, iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, airplay etc. Nothing else has any issues -- just AirDrop.
