Windows installation fail.

Phew! I have my rMBP working again! Good job I have an iPad to Google how.

I just tried to install Windows XP Pro SP2 and it all went horribly wrong.

I noticed that Bootcamp was referring to Windows 7... Can I not install anything older? Do I need a different version of Bootcamp?

I guess this got missed by those who know over Christmas.

Can I install XP onto my rMBP with Mountain Lion, or is Windows 7 the oldest it will take?

If it has to be windows 7, does anyone know where I can get a disk or ISO image cheap? Does anyone have an old copy that they no longer use?

I'm not sure whether I actually need windows, I just want to install it to see how well it runs some windows software I have. Hence not wanting to shell out very much.

I'm not trying to get an illegal copy, BTW, but there must be people with trashed PCs with windows 7 on.

Pick one of these ISO's, this will get you a 30 day trial. If you decide you like it, you can purchase a Retail copy and enter the Product Key.
