frustrated with iPhone5 volume

I never hear the text received sound on my iP5 anymore!!!

my volume is set on max.

my text tone is set on Telegraph. how come it does not seem to make any sound when a text arrives? what am I missing? My silence button is NOT on silence!

That's odd try throwing the silent switch button on and off then if That doesn't work try a reboot? My iPhone 5 speaker is loud and crisp since day 1

Alerts have separate volume control than other audio on the phone, make sure you have the right one set to max.

The volume setting on iphone5 says Ringer & Alerts and there is a slider. If i move that slider, all sounds including ringtones, alarms and alerts they reduce in volume or vice versa.

Cannot seem to find individual settings for ringtones and alerts.

Something must be wrong with your iPhone. My iPhone 5 has excellent volume.
