Hi all,

I have a user who has lost the ability to see color labels on SMB shares in Lion. I have the same issue on a personal laptop with Mountain Lion. My 10.6 and earlier machines are all able to see color labels with no problems. When I apply a color label to a file/folder in 10.6 it will stick and is visible to other users. When I try to apply in 10.7/10.8 the file will appear with the label, then if I navigate out of the folder and back in the label will be gone, and is never visible on any of my 10.6 machines.

I've attached the output of a terminal window querying a test file with a red label on one of our network shares
10.6.8:

10.8.2

So the metadata is there (if it was created on a 10.6 or less) since my Snow Leopard machines all display the labels properly, is there any other reason my Lion and Mountain Lion machines wouldn't recognize the label metadata?

Thanks for any help!
