Is it worth it to refurbish a 32GB Verizon iPhone 4 my self?

A friend is giving it to me for free. I'm thinking about using it as a music player since I'm on T-Mobile.

How much should I put into it? It has a smashed back glass, cracked front glass (not a big problem)and broken power button. I might want to replace the battery too. I hope to spend less than $100 on this.

Any tips, advice on purchasing replacement parts for this?

"worth" is a subjective term.

To me, it'd certainly be worht it but then again I've been wanting to get my mitts on a broken iPhone and try my hand at fixing it.

...so yeah, I say go for it. I've browsed iFixit and they seem to have everything you would need.

The A4 is showing its age now so don't expect it to run everything smoothly, but depending on the price - if dirt chip - I'd say go for it.

I sold a 16GB AT&T iPhone 4 for $220 cash last week. Friend sold it to me for $20 with a shattered screen. Got the screen fixed for $60.
