That's what happens when you get it repaired by somebody who is not authorised or qualified to do so (the screw plate holding down the dock connector flex is missing (it also holds the serial number)) - no amount of fire would cause this to melt/unscrew itself, and I doubt you'd go delving into a melted phone with a screwdriver.

Also: the phone is well and truly bent on the side, and if you put it in the sink - surely that would wash any loose debris off of the phone.

I'm not sure what you're expecting Apple to do, but given that it looks like it's been messed with I doubt they'll do anything.

Well you can see in the photo that the screws are missing, and there should be a plate holding the dock flex cable in

I found this thread to be very interesting though. If you haven't had it tampered with by anyone else, why even care what some random dude on the internet claims to see or not see on a picture?

Please keep those of us who aren't accusing you of anything up to date with what Apple says.

Maybe you could have asked him whether someone had in fact fixed the iPhone because what you think you saw (or didn't see) on the picture instead of flat out telling him it's his fault the iPhone burst into flames after his house could have burnt down with him in it? It's not unheard of that phones have faulty batteries and burst into flames when charging.
