How do I get my screen to stop jumping?

I think it has to do with the Magic mouse which I'm using on my 27" I mac (lion). I love using my finger to scroll up/down on the screen and forward /back but I'm so frustrated because I cant highlight because the screen keeps moving, or if I'm using google maps, every time I grab and move the map, it opens to the whole state, country or world.
