Just wondering if any local stores in Canada carry the 1/2 AA Pram battery for older macs, or is ordering online the only option?

You might find them at "The Source"

http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Prod...&category=Specialty+Batteries&product=2300026

I think this is the equivalent battery to what you're looking for, but $19.99 is pretty steep.

Here's a Canadian online retailer: http://www.canadaram.com/batteries.htm
They have them for $11.00.

I have ordered Pram gatteries for an old G4 PowerMac from Other World Computing (http://www.macsales.com) in the past, as they were hard to find locally (at a reasonable price) here in Canada.

Here's the diect link, they're currently $3.99 : http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/BAA36VPRAM/

Even with shipping, these might work out cheaper than a "local" source.

As noted above, The Source carries them, but they're a total ripoff. If you live in or near a large city, you should be able to find a decent electronics supply/surplus shop (not a mainstream computer store); those sized batteries are common enough that you a place like that should have them. If you've live in/near Toronto, the places I go to are Active Surplus on Queen St. and Above All Surplus in Koreatown.
