I have another request: for the homescreen is it possible to add a light grey shelf on the top for the 5 rows of icons ?

it is doubtful that anyone will be able to remove those squares. there's too much detail and it would take an inordinate amount of work. I gave it a try and was unsatisfied with the results. perhaps one of the other gurus can help you.
