So the package went from China to Alaska to China again and now Japan?! I'm fed up with fedex lol.

Edit: And it seems my shipping date was bumped to the 18th as well :(

No it didn't... It shows the shipping updates in time order, but each update shows what time it was in its local time zone. They should adjust the times so it's less confusing, but they don't.

And mine got bumped to the 18th as well. :( You can call Apple and they'll refund your shipping.

Proud to say that I'm posting this from my newly arrived mac! I've been lurking these forums since early December. It helped to keep me sane while I waited, so I thought I would throw in my order stats.

3.2 i5, 8 GB RAM, 680M

Ordered 12/16/12
Prepared 1/13/12
Shipped 1/14/12
Arrived 1/16/12

On the 14th, FedEx predicted delivery for the 16th. It seems the package got held up in Shanghai for over a day, so FedEx moved their estimate to the 17th. It took the package about 17 hours to get from Memphis, to Dallas, to my door.

I hope that helps some of you while you wait.

I have received it and it is sitting next to me still in the brown covering box. A massive box at that. The new iMac 27" just teasing me. The house is in shambles. Painting is going on and stuff everywhere. I am trying to find a place to setup but I find any. I am dying to look inside the box but really want a clean new freshly painted and carpeted room to open it, she deserves that much after such a long trip. I'm so torn right now between be sensible and waiting to what the heck and just rip this thing open!!!:(

Shortly after the flight lands, your tracking should update to include:

Arrived at FedEx location
MEMPHIS, TN

EDIT: if you haven't seen any tracking status changes since it went IN TRANSIT 10:30, I'd say your iMac has to be on Flight 90 with 90 minutes to go.

Thx for all the info. I already had the new 27" picked it up at local apple store but wanted the i7 with fusion and the 680 so I took it back and ordered one lol

im upgrading ram and i have a external ssd thunderbolt already so i opted out of the fusion and ram

thanks but its disheartening to see that some peoples orders are still processing but it seems like those with the fusions and more ram are taking longer

27" 3.4i7, 3TB fusion, 680MX.
Already put in two 8gb sticks and added Applecare.

Debating as to whether to keep my 2010 8 core Macpro...
Love the fact that I can change out HDs as needed.

I ordered from the Education Store Australia also (22nd Dec). Seems that all orders from the EDU AU store in a 2 week timeframe are preparing today.

Did you order a different iMac than the rest of us? These are amongst the least user-serviceable products that they've ever built. (I hate it and I'm STILL annoyed that I've offered them money and they won't actually put one in a box, accept my money, and ship the darned thing - because all of their competition is even worse.)

Ordered Dec 22 under "Shipping: 2-3 weeks". Now "Available to ship: January
", exactly as it was the day I placed the order. No update. I won't throw a hissy fit and say I'll buy anyplace else as I consciously waited a few quarters for THIS machine to be announced, but it's pretty annoying that they can't even project a shipment date.

I do kind of wonder if they'd built a machine that was a half inch thicker (you know, like nobody asked them not to do - it's a stinking desktop already) if they could actually manufacture the things to meet their demand. Ivy Bridge iMac should have totally been shipping last spring..."Friction stir welding" solves no problems for me (and it's all about me) If a 27" desktop takes a fraction of an inch more of space - not even desktop space - in my room but arrives in the same tax year as I ordered it, that seems a pretty winning formula to me.
