Logitech and Microsoft mice are quite good, exact model numbers can be had, once you decide, if wireless or wired, and if wireless, if Bluetooth or not (extras USB receiver needed for this).

But I also value comfort and function over design, and while I have a Magic Mouse, its design is fabulous, but it does not make my hand comfortable, thus I se Logitech and Microsoft wired mice.

Apple's Magic Mouse with the touch-enabled surface, which makes scrolling a breeze and also supports gestures in OS X.
Thumb resize.

I just ordered a Razer Naga Epic and although it's designed for gaming, I didn't buy it for that. With Razer's software you can assign different keys or shortcuts to each of it's 17 buttons for multiple different programs. I work in the Adobe Creative Suite a lot and for me that functionality is amazing. Plus it's wireless, has amazing accuracy and fits perfectly in my hand. It comes with different side panels too so you can fine tune it to your liking. I've used a Logitech g5 for the past 5 years and if it wasn't wired I'd use it until the sensor stopped working. A good gaming mouse can't be beat for ergonomics, accuracy and functionality. And personally I hate the Magic Mouse I think it's one of the most over-priced gimmicky mice out there. If I want gestures I'll just use the trackpad.
