Version 1.33.1 recently released.

Major change is new troop models (REALLY NICE!)

Still the best WW2 genre MMO for Mac platform.

PS, did anyone try the contest?

11 years, STILL going!

I think CRS and Blizzard are only 2 MMO companies that support the Mac as well as PC.

FREE PLAY!!

Not all units available, but something to start with.

Also 2 paid levels, varies with how much involved you are.

Rapid Assault
CoD / MoH style combat for a quick blast of action.

NEW TRAILER in HD!

They are also going for Steam Greenlight, in top 10% of applicants for last 2 months. Little more and it will be GL!

Jeez, Practical, you sure don't want this to die! I've heard of this MMO, probably from this thread a long time ago, but isn't it really that optimized, right? Because of how it loads the world? Looks great anyhow.

Since 2002 CRS has continued to produce the Mac version and did best to keep it current. A couple of times they almost had to stop, but always pulled though and released updates with PC version.
That kind of dedication from a tiny company (only 14 employees) deserves recognition.

Yes, some aspects of the game show the age, some of the models are clearly blocky and ugly, but the game environment is arguably the best out there, the largest continuous map and true combined arms action (vehicles, aircraft, ships, and infantry).

Their are some contenders, but it may be some time before they reach a comparable level.

Red Cube, could you please Grennlight BGE on Steam? It seems to be just short of the goal.
Thanks.

Sure! I love the game so far, and I'd love to help Greenlight it.

Super!
Glad you like it! It is a very challenging game to learn, many drop out, but once you "get it" it's hard to find anything that compares.

ex-Apple employee the new coder for this game!

CRS hired him couple of weeks ago, but his involvement with Apple might have been in 90's.

You paid $20 / month on a 6 month subscription to WoW ?

I would say that somebody ripped you off then since a 6 month subscription to WoW is $12.99 / month.

WoW cost per month

Save yourself some $$, go Free Play for month to get started, then go for a sub. Go for 6 months at least, need that long just to get familiar with game.

As 2013 comes to close, BGE is still chugging along despite competition from new games.

They are preparing for full Steam support.

BGE has its own resident comic, always poking fun of the game, but well loved by the game producers as well as players.

Willi Tee made a special for the 99th Campaign video that, once again, gets to the heart of why the game play makes up for dated graphics.

The full Willi Tee comics can be found here.
