Hi,
I have a Mac running 10.6.8 out of the box. How can I copy the Snow Leopard file to one of my older computers?

Oh, wait. I actually still have some discs that came with the newer one. Can I install it using those?
You can't, the OS that comes installed is tailored to the hardware in question.Hi,

No, the software restore discs that came with a system only works on that model.Oh, wait. I actually still have some discs that came with the newer one. Can I install it using those?
Won't work for the above stated reasons.Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper, but only if your older Macs are Intel, not PPC. It is very easy to do.
Correct if you mean from one model Mac to another.Pretty sure that a cloned copy of an install disc from one Mac won't work on another.

I'm considering installing Snow Leopard onto the new hard drive through my mbp (in target disk mode) with the install dvd I already have and then just swapping out the hard drive when it arrives.
