Would you trade an ipad 4th gen 32GB for a mid 2009 MacBook Air?
What do you guys think?

No I wouldn't. I would only do it for an air from 2010 or newer depending on the model. The jump from 2009 to 2010 airs was huge.

I think you would be better off selling the ipad and buying a 2010 or newer air before going with the 09.

Just my 2 cents

Yeah but if I were to sell I'm sure maybe. Like 530, aren't MacBook airs starting from 2009 like $700+

If you know the seller and there's nothing dodgy then sure

But ask yourself whether you need a MBA, and whether the iPad does the job

I just took a look on Ebay at completed listings, and there are a few as "new" that sold for $600 to $650. But most where between $450 and $550. Some where even lower than that. This was for the 120 GB option. So I guess it is a "fair" trade, but you can get a 2010 for just a little bit more.

Again, do what you want, but just my thoughts.
