Solution to share external monitor between MBP and PC?
I recently switched from a Lenovo laptop running Win7 to a 2012 MBP 15.1 retina display. I currently have a 27" Samsung P2770 monitor that I am sharing between the MBP and a desktop PC using a KVM. This monitor displays at a max resolution of 1980x1020, and I am looking to upgrade to a new monitor that I can share between the MBP and PC that will support 2560x1440 resolution. I have ruled out the Thunderbolt display due to the need for connecting a PC via KVM, which does not look like it is possible due to the monitor only supporting a Thunderbolt connection. The KVM I currently have will need to be upgraded as well because it supports max resolution of 1980x1020. I am considering the following options:

Is the adapter cable I have selected above correct? Also, are there any other alternatives to the above that could be used to accomplish sharing a 27" monitor in 2560x1440 resolution between a MBP and PC. If anyone has such a setup working, it would be great if you could post what you have. Thanks. |
