iPhone: 3gs compass/gps errors 05.16.07

hi,

i bought an unlocked (factory) 3gs with that baseband, and the gps doesn't work. what procedures can i do to get a proper bb on this phone that will allow those two functions to properly work?

That baseband does not interfere with GPS.
My guess is in the past, someone installed the iPad baseband which blocks the GPS and your device has never recovered.

Best hope is a clean restore to current firmware, set up as new, do not restore from backup.

Or, the GPS hardware component might have died.

oh darn. i did a restore as new, and same problem. must be a bad gps and compass. bummer.

is that the current firmware?
