Video bitrate

Is there anyway to find out the bitrate of a video in Mountain Lion?

I know VLC shows resolution and frame rate but it doesn't show the bitrate.

In order to find out:

VideoSpec (free)
MediaInfo (free)
Media Inspector (2.99 USD € in the Mac App Store (MAS))

It shows the same info as VLC.

The movie is .mkv (if that matters).

That is the AUDIO bitrate, indicated by the DTS in front of it.

Look below for a better example:

Funnily enough, MPlayer X also omits some audio channels and some bits from the audio stream.

Aren't you guys overlooking that Quicktime Player X will do this? Just hit command-I and it will give you a consolidated bitrate. Granted, it doesn't give a very detailed breakdown, but it will give you what you're looking for.

Then again, Perian needs to be installed in order to open MKV files in QT Player. One way or another, one needs to download and install something.

Is the an App where I can compare two files (file1.mkv) and (file2.mkv) which may/may not be the same size/have the same resolution/bit rates?
