Sound issues with iMic

I have recently purchased iMic to work with my Macbook pro 15" to record through Logic. I am coming out of a mixer to record DJ sets and have had a test run and the record function works but the sound quality seems very low. I have messed with the volume on the Mixer and amp to try and get the levels better but it doesnt seem to help. Is there any settings that I might be missing to resolve this?
