Build quality

Because Apple has so many parts suppliers, does that mean build quality can vary? For example are differences in the screen noticeable depending on the manufacturer?

Display qualities can and do vary within even a single manufacture. Add to this the fact that iPhone 5 displays are known to be supplied by three different manufactures (LG, Sharp, and Japan Display). The result is no two iPhones, held side by side, will have perfectly matching displays. It is a mathematical improbability. However, detection of the variance may require more specialized equipment than the human eye.
