Is it possible to know the name of screen manufacturer of rMBP by the serial number?

Is it possible to know the name of screen manufacturer (LG or Samsung) of the 15" rMBP by just knowing the serial number of the machine itself ? How?

Just buy a machine, and use it.

Don't fuss over what screen you have just because people moan about it on a forum.

Lol people are so rude. Just get the retina computer you want, type in the terminal code. If you get a LG POS with IR then exchange it. I went looking for a 15" rmbp the other day and even the store display models had terrible IR. I'm just going to wait and see what they do this spring/summer.
