Do you need the rMBP? Is the 2011 working for you?

I don't want to start an entire thread on this. What does the "c" stand for in cMBP?
I've rattled my brain and can't figure it out! |

I say stick with the classic... wait another year for the next big thing, including 2nd gen retina.

If you're going from 13" cMBP to 15" rMBP, maybe...but if you're just doing 13" cMBP to 13" rMBP, I'd say it isn't worth it. The display is definitely nicer on the rMBP, especially given the 13" cMBP's 1280x800, but if your signature is accurate, you have an opti-bay, which gives you way more storage, and way more flexibility. Plus, barring the sale you're doing, the 13" rMBP, according to Macworld, (a) is the worst deal out of the six MacBooks (11" MBA, 13" MBA, 13" cMBP. 15" cMBP, 13" rMBP, 15" rMBP) that Apple sells currently, and (b) has the worst battery life out of the five 13+" MacBooks that Apple sells currently. Plus, at least for the duration of relative usefulness for that machine, most of the software for OS X will look like crap on it. That said, if you only use the few apps that have retina support, then disregard that last sentence when considering your options.
