I got an Exomount, in white. They come in black as well, and now have become a Korean Company called OSOmount.

As for in-car charging a plug-in 12V adaptor w/USB on the end, then I use the cable that came with my iPhone. Cheap and efficient. But buying a second cable for the car would prevent you from having to remember to move that cable back and forth into the house each night.

And the Exomount grabs your phone on the sides, leaving the bottom exposed for the charger to plug into.
