I burn and need to read a lot of DVD's and the removal of the optical drive I consider to be a big mistake. Regardless, I purchased an LG external writer that can write DVD's at 24X because all the other drives were limited to 8X. Unfortunately, using either Burn or Premiere Elements to burn a disc, my speed is limited to 4X which is pretty unacceptable. Anyone have any suggestions? Is this totally a limitation of the software, or the iMac?

...and most DVD-RWs (note the "W") are 4x max write speed only.

I believe we have a solution. I actually had no idea RW's were that limited as i always use regular +R's, but I had some RW's around and I figured I'd use them to test it out. Will try again with +R's. Thanks to both of you...
