problems with iTunes on macbook

Hi I have a macbook 2.2ggh intel 2duo and have 10.6.8 loded.
If I want to update my iphone 4 it asked me to update iTunes to min 10.6.3. when I update it, it stops somewhere and gives me "an error occurred".

Instead of just updating iTunes you may want to just download the complete installer for iTunes 11 directly from here and run it.
