Recover Deleted iPhone Backup File?

Hey there,

I have accidentally and stupidly deleted my most recent iPhone back up (iTunes -- Preferences -- Devices -- Delete Backup) that I now desperately need.

The Backup is not in the Trash bin. Is it possible to retrieve the Backup file? Does anyone know? Is it somewhere on my computer, or is it gone forever?

Thank you in advance for any help. Even if that help is, "You're screwed". At least then, I can stop looking. A solution would admittedly be better, though!

any luck with retrieving the delted iPhone backup file?

I've mistakenly created a new phone account with a new name and the original backup has been automatically deleted. I need to restore with the original backup but it's no longer in iTunes. Please advise if you had any luck in retrieving or restoring the deleted backup file. Thanks!

No one has answered, because there is no way to recover a deleted backup.

iPhone backup

Hello friends!
The iPhone backup for Mac is a tool that can easily restore all your data again. It can restore all your text messages, sound settings, definite network settings, and widget settings. The software is also capable of restoring your videos, audio, pictures, documents, contacts etc.
You can use this software to create backup for iPhones, IPod music, TV shows, and podcast iPhone to Mac.

Retrieve Lost Files

Here's how to retrieve lost photos and videos and probably more! This app did it for me. I made a stupid mistake and updated a friend's iPhone 4 to the new iOS5 and didn't make a back-up. I thought he would have had one. He didn't. I reformatted the iPhone and updated the software. He had pictures and videos from the entire last year that were now nowhere to be found. Well I downloaded DiskAid after somehow stumbling on it and it displayed all the photos and videos as well as much more, and I simply dragged them to my desktop and they were all saved there. So when you reformat your phone most files are not actually gone, they are just marked to be overwritten! Good news! Download this rad app here: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/27830/diskaid

You can sync with iTunes on new laptop and sync your contacts and calendars over. You can also create a backup on the new computer. You can import photos taken from camera roll. For music/video, you would have to find 3rd party software to get that media from your iPhone onto your new computer. You should also transfer any purchases you made over also.

are any of these confirmed to be working? I had the same problem except I decided to set up as a new device thinking I could restore from a backup. But then it overwrote my old backup file. So now i lost all my messages, settings since i backed up to my computer instead of icloud.

are you using iCloud? if so it stores several copies of your backup unless you manually delete them. go into iCloud, then storage and backup, then manage storage then you will see the backups you have saved.

No i never backed up to icloud before so I dont have any backup on icloud. My backup was always on my pc. :/

So does that mean I lost everything then and can't do anything about it?

If you're phone is running iOS 5.0 or iOs 6.0 then look no further and try iCloud else utilities like Dr.Fone (Mac). I've heard a lot about Copytrans too.

To Recover Deleted iPhone Backup File:
1.Open iTunes on your computer.
2.Plug in your iPhone to your computer just as you would to sync it normally.
Locate the iPhone in the "Devices" column at the left of the iTunes application window.
3.Right-click on the iPhone icon in the "Devices" column and select "Restore From Backup" Select one of the backup versions from the drop-down menu and click the "Restore" button. This will restore any data that you have lost since your last sync in iTunes.
