HDCP error, on HDCP compliant monitor?

So I have my 3rd gen Apple TV connected to my Samsung Syncmaster p2770fh.

I figured, what the heck, they are expensive, but I'll buy The Avengers in HD from iTunes to give the service a fair shot. So after a really long buffering time I watch the movie with no problems, good movie. Now if I try to airplay the movie to the Apple TV from my iPod Touch 5th ten, I get the Display can't play protected movies alert. What gives? Has anyone else had this issue? cable maybe?
