Every time I try and open an MS Office Application on my iMac OS 10.8.2 the application crashes with this message.

What should I do? The Office Suite has worked fine for a few years without any problems.

Version: 14.3.0 (14.3.0)
Build Info: Unknown-121105~0

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)

You need to update to 14.3.1 that fixed some issues introduced by 14.3.0.

However, it's possible the SIGBUS error is an indication or other issues. It is often associated with hardware problems.

Since the log shows: Build Info: Unknown-121105~0, I suggest you do a re-install of Office 2011.

You can do a simple remove by dragging the Microsoft Office 2011 folder in Applications to the trash then install. In some cases you need to Remove Office completely.

  1. Open any Office application and select "Check for Updates" under Help in the Menu bar. Once MAU is launched, select "Keep in Dock"
  2. Log out/in as described below.
  3. Select the MAU in the Dock and download the updater.
  4. After it downloads, quit the MAU then install.
  5. RESTART**

QUIT ALL RUNNING APPLICATIONS

Log out under Apple in the Menu bar. When you log in, hold down the Shift key. This disables all login items including the hidden ones like the Microsoft Database daemon and SyncServicesAgent.

**The key to a good install is to restart after each update except for the Microsoft Autoupdater (MAU) and the Microsoft Error Reporting Tool (MERP)

Dear Diane:

Thanks for the advice.

Reinstalling MS Office 2011 was my next move. I was hoping I could repair the installation somehow. You know how finicky these MS credentials are if you wipe and reinstall sometimes.

MS Office Outlook Freezes on OS 10.8

I have the newest Office 14.3.2 and OS 10.8.3.
(to my knowledge).

I rebuilt my data base because it was freezing.

I use an IMAP account for 3 computers.
USUALLY if one data base is acting up - I can expect the same on the other two computers.

One is the this newest set up.
The other one is OS 10.7 with Outlook
And, the other 10.7 with an older entourage.

NO problems with the older two - only this newest configuration.

The problem presents when I do a search.
Everything goes VERY slow - I quit - reboot the computer. Everything.
Nothing works. SO - I rebuild the data base again.

That fixes the problem for about a WEEK.

Very frustrated. This is my main work computer...

Any suggestions.

Thanks
