Tizen 2.0 Screen shots released. Looks Great!

Well as I called it before. Tizen will come across as a game changer in the mobile space. The largest mobile vendor in the world is the only one who can pull this off. And so far the OS, in my opinion, is looking absolutely gorgeous. Tizen is now on version 2. And it's quite the browser score, can't wait to see this thing on a high end device. Tizen on a Galaxy phone would most def be the Next Big Thing.

Wow, that looks......BEAUTIFUL!
And I'm a huge Touchwiz fan. Could this be an indication of how Touchwiz 6 may look like? I'd be more than happy if it was. But my head says most likely not since the whole point of Tizen is to offer something different from it's Android devices. Samsung can really hit this out of the park. And from the Tizen demo on the GS3, I have to say this OS is SMOOOOOTH as well as RESPONSIVE. More so than the current Android version. If you see the video of the demo, you can see the movement of the finger is followed almost immediately with the movement of the screen. Extremely responsive. And as the OP says, that's one helluva browser score. 😀

Well considering Tizen devices have been confirmed to being released this year, be ready to care. 😀
Now whether it runs smooth on release, is something we'll just have to wait and see.

When I see things like this talked about, I ask the same questions I asked when bb10 was announced. What makes this special? What is the feature that this will have, that other devices will not? What does this do substantially better than any other devices? At this point, there isn't really anything that can be said as far as an answer to these questions...thus it doesn't pique my interest even a tad.

Well you can ask that same question for any OS, current or upcoming.
But to answer your question, the biggest offering this can have over a Samsung Android device is, this OS will be made by the same OEM who makes the hardware it will be running on. I believe it's quite the bragging point from what I read on these forums. You know, to have hardware and software to be so tightly intertwined. 😉

Yeah, I believe it still lives and will continue to live through Tizen. BTW, that was a time when Sammy didn't have the momentum it has now. As well as the high end hardware it has now.
Remember when Apple PCs were near extinction. Who would have ever thought a company could make a second run. 😉

True and i never buy the first batch. We'll see how it does. It wont come here first so will rely on video's. I didnt get an Android the first two years it was out.

By the number of negative reactions, this has got to be good. I've been following it since I first discovered it. There's a lot to like. It's obviously disruptive or iFans would be willing to discuss it instead of just trashing it.

Samsung's a smart player in the smartphone space. So is Apple, however I do wonder how hungry Apple is these days. Complacency can be dangerous.

Shifting the focus to iWatch says something about Apple spreading itself too thin. Unless perhaps the iWatch is designed to replace the iPhone in Apple's "Post Smartphone Era".

That'd be an easy way to save them from competing with Google & Samsung.

Time will tell.

Sure! yet samsung still hasnt use bada on a s3 alike since they have the hardware now amirite? Bada was there when s2 was out so the hardware was there just not the software.
 
I love my Samsung phone and have no issues with TW, and I am def not an iOS fan, but I also have to say that this looks like nothing special and very, very Alpha looking. I am hoping to see interactive or "live" icons, and a more Ubuntu like menu display (not more Android-looking same ole, same ole).

And I still have reservations about Tizen. I just don't know what it brings to the table?

Bada was never meant for high end devices. That's where Android came in. But when Google bought Motorola, that changed things. Any OEM with half a brain would have been concerned. Hence Samsung's move to developing Tizen. Nobody knows how Tizen will do, but one thing's for sure, Samsung is moving forward with SOMETHING rather than sitting on their laurels. That's more than I can say for a company that barely upgrades their hardware and keeps an OS looking the same since 2007. Keep the hatin'. 😉

We shall see! But Im sure sammy aint stupid and will stay with android aka their money maker not some symbian wannabe os 🙄

wow man you are so far out there,first of all google bought moto(that's was basically bankrupt)for its patents to fight against apple.That is the only reason it bought moto and Samsung started tizen because of apple suing everyone that remotely used anything from google.

You do know that moto invented the cell phone right and hold over 14,000 us patents on its technology?google also cant patent things in android as its open source but moto did patent a bunch of things from the beginning .you see moto and any other companys can patent things in there own themed versions of android and google got so lucky that moto patented pretty much everything pure android put out.without moto google would stand no chance in any court system and now not even apple will go after them since they can just say you are using a **** load of our patents now.

now on to the moto google x cell that is coming out,this is google being smart and trying to get some money out of the moto buy out as that company actually made googles stock drop as its sales have been in the red for the past 2 years.

Now with Samsung getting its ass kicked in court and not knowing where it would end up with android they decided to start a side project to have as a lets say back up.

The last nexus that is pure android was on a Samsung phone and to this day there has still not been a nexus device made by moto.

tezen is not even close to what android is now but its something to fall back on if Samsung cant use android without going to court over icons and the shape of there phones.

Ill end this rant one more time that google bought Motorola for there patents,not there hardware or phones,heck google has enough money to build a brand new cell company from the ground up and call it iGoogle for all they care,but they cant get access to 17,000 patents on mobile tech that way.

sending an email on a cell is one of there patents and they have a crap load of them now waiting for apple to try and start with them.

Riiiiight! Google had absolutely no intentions of building their own Nexus device. Just for the patents, eh? Riiiight.
Don't sweat the details. Just enjoy the fact there is another OEM (A true OEM) making it's own OS and truly making it's own Hardware ALL IN HOUSE. There is nobody at the moment that does this. So just sit back and enjoy.

Google has a patent pending right now for the notification panel, so that statement isn't accurate.

Do you really think this is something they didn't think of until now? You don't think that possibility was considered prior to them purchasing Motorola?

Yet more speculation. I'd guess that it had more to do with Google buying Motorola than anything Apple did.

You state this as if it is fact, when in actuality it is nothing more than speculation and conjecture. The fact is, you have no idea what the reasons were for Google purchasing Motorola.

Exactly! He acts as if Google just looked up one day after the purchase and realized that they could use Motorola to build their own phone...and that they had no idea they could do that before.

Well yeah, that's good if it's done well. Apple does it well.

Nobody would call it an advantage if iOS was sluggish.
