Haha.... I can understand why you say that, but I'm not on Sprint. Unfortunately, I'm using T-Mobile & it looks like it produces the same results for me. 🙁

Nope, that's why it's so great. I removed my carrier completely withOUT a jailbreak. Google it, it's a pretty nice app. It's available for both Mac and PC.

No jailbreak required. There is a pretty long thread here explaining how to do it. It's pretty easy!
For custom ringtones, I like to use http://www.audiko.net. It's really easy to use, they have a lot of premade ringtones or you can upload your own, edit it, and then download an iPhone version to your computer and sync it to your iPhone through iTunes. It's the easiest method I've found to date!
