i know that other than the apple store,amazon and ebay. B&H photo sells them too (tax free)
any other sites im missing? i'd like to save on tax

Apple sets prices across the board. You may save on tax or maybe a gift certificate from the store you're buying from, but unless you're looking for something used, the prices will be the same.

I don't understand why people refuse to accept this, as it's always been this way.

You are mistaken. If you look at the link in the above post you will see many vendors sell Mac hardware for less the MSRP. A couple weeks ago Best Buy had a promo where they were selling the MBA for $200 off MSRP.
