I ordered a 13" 2.5 w/ 256, recieved a 2.9 w/ 512 flash storage. The sad part is I already decided to keep the 15" instead... now my husband is practically clawing my arm off to keep it but c'mon, $1500 is not pocket change and his computer's only a year old! :p

eBay! :D

Let's say I have to take my "jackpot" MacBook in for service at the Genius bar. Is it possible that they could replace it though with a "lesser" model since that's what I paid for? Or is the service always tied to the configuration per its serial number?

No, you'll get the same spec that's in there if they replace any parts such as the logic board. Any replacements will be refunded and you'll have to rebuy from the online store - so no guarantees with that though.

Did you order the 128 or 256 version? I had ordered the i5 2.5/8/256 that came with the i7 2.9.

Yeah, that's what I ordered. This thing's awesome! I've had it for 6 days and I haven't turned it off/sleep (other than the monitor) since monday. LOTS of transferring of files. The fan hasn't came on once!

I wonder if any 128 GB 13" rMBP's have arrived as upgraded. I really don't need 256 GB of space.

I bought an open box 13 / 128 / 2.5 at Best Buy for $1248.

Then I ordered an Apple Refub 13 / 256 / 2.5 for $1359 and didn't win the lottery.

I went back to Best Buy and negotiated an open box 13 / 256 / 2.5 to $1250 from $1330.

I didn't realize that open box AppleCare warranties begin on the day they are first purchased, so when I registered MacBook 13 / 256 / 2.5, I was surprised that coverage began in November. I called Apple and they adjusted the start date forward to January, but I planned to buy an Apple LED Cinema Display and AppleCare extended warranty. However, the MacBook's start date is beyond 30 days, so I'll now have to buy a separate AppleCare warranty for the Apple LED Cinema Display. I emailed Tim Cook to see if his staff could somehow move the start date forward since AppleCare couldn't. Part of me is considering returning the open box MacBook--again. Argh.

thinking about picking up a refub, quick question, does Apple still offer the 14 days refund policy on this?
